Whether it’s your daily commute to work or an odyssey, music is always a good companion. A playlist with handpicked travel songs will not only pump your traveling mood, but will also cater your traveling soul.

Here are a few selected songs that can instantly pump up your traveling mood. Some of them might not be completely related with travel, but for me, it feeds my itchy feet quite often.

*****

#1 – For the very reason that this song always sounds fresh and was the background song for my Sikkim Travel Video.

#2 – Sung beautifully by Job Kurian and Neha Nair, this one usually tops my playlist. Also, it was the background song for my Munnar Travel Video.

#3 – The song was inspired by Job’s friend Ajay’s journey to the mighty Himalayas. Listen to it and you’ll know why.

#4 – One more pick from the Job Kurian Collective.
There are a few other songs too from the Collective which you can try adding to your travel playlist.

#5 – Patakha Guddi from the movie Highway caught almost everyone’s attention as soon as it got released. The obvious being stated, the video picturizes a road trip.

#6 – Similar to Rockstar Songs, the songs from Dev D too stands to be my all  time favorite. Alternatively, you shall also try listening to Duniya.

#7 – Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, directed by Sameer Thahir falls into a thriller road movie genre. Easily, any Malayali’s favorite travel song pick! In addition to that, try listening to the Thaazhvaram Song.

#8 – After NPCB came North 24 Kaatham, a road movie written and directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon. Once you’re done with the below listed song, listen to the remaining songs from the movie.

#9 –  Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is nothing short of a movie that instantly inspires you to travel. Almost everyone dreams of a life/job similar to the one Ranbir has in this particular song.

#10 – This peppy track from the movie Swades starring SRK shouldn’t ever be missed out!

#11 – For the majority, traveling is about traveling with friends. Hence, this Goan road trip song of Akash, Sid and Sameer from the movie Dil Chahta Hai.

#12 – As its name implies, this song is about freedom. And if traveling is all about freedom from your worries or that monotonous routine, why not add this to your playlist?

#13 – The song Akale from the movie Charlie, where Dulquer Salman plays the role of a free-bird/traveler. I still remember playing this in loop during our Kolukkumalai trip.

#14 – By the end of 2015, Anil Radhakrishnan Menon came up with LL7K. Even though the movie didn’t perform well at the Box Office, the songs caught my attention. Apart from the one listed below, listen to Kunnimani Kunnirangi too.

#15 – Sung by Naresh Iyer and A R Rahman, this song from the evergreen movie Rang De Basanti often makes it to my travel playlist. Hmmph, maybe in India, Bollywood is having the highest number of travel songs.

#16 – Pack your baggage and get ready with this song playing in the background, as loud as it can!

#17 – The Travel Song from Sidharth Bharathan’s directorial debut Nidra is a bit trippy and breaks the conventional style of travel songs; and I love it for the same.

#18 – Now, why don’t you just add a melody to the list?

#19 – For some reason, Subah Subah from the movie I See You injects positive energy into me. A perfect one for morning travels.

#20 – A song from my favorite movie, Into The Wild to end the list.

*****

The list can be lengthier; but for the time being, let’s be content with this. I hope to come up with another list in time to come.
